Following on from the second half of last year, Yettel continued to provide the fastest mobile internet access in Hungary in the first six months of 2025, according to Ookla Speedtest Intelligence and szelessav.net's national average speed measurements, the mobile operator told MTI on Thursday.
Based on tests conducted by the independent international organization Ookla, Yettel's network proved to be the fastest with a Speed Score of 74.35, an average download speed of 228.5 Mbps, and an average upload speed of 31.29 Mbps.
According to the information provided, the service provider has spent nearly HUF 100 billion on network development since 2020 and offers 5G service at no extra charge at more than a thousand base stations nationwide.
Turning to the highlights of the summer, they announced that the everyday network capacity at this year's Sziget Festival had been reinforced with the installation of a total of 31 sectors at 20 additional locations. Data and voice traffic also exceeded the average, with the amount of data downloaded on 5G exceeding last year's figures by an average of 15% and the amount of data uploaded on 5G exceeding last year's figures by more than 35%.
