The National Center for Public Health and the National Directorate General for Disaster Management of the Ministry of the Interior have issued a third-degree heat warning for Hungary between midnight on Monday, 27 June and midnight on Thursday, 30 June.

National Medical Officer Cecília Müller made the decision based on the recommendation of the National Center for Public Health and the forecast of the National Meteorological Service.

A third-degree heat alert will be issued if the daily mean temperature reaches or exceeds 27 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.

The communication stresses the importance of increased fluid intake in hot weather, but avoid alcohol, coffee, sugary drinks and fatty foods. Avoid exposure to the sun between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. If you can't avoid it, protect yourself from sunburn by wearing suitable clothing, ventilated clothing and sunscreen.
