Seven Hungarians who decided to return home from the sealed coronavirus-stricken central Chinese city of Wuhan arrived in Budapest just after 8 p.m. Sunday evening. Together with many others, they landed in France on Sunday afternoon, from where they were brought to Budapest by a plane of the Hungarian Defense Forces.

Then, the Hungarians were taken to a dedicated building of the South Pest Central Hospital with two vehicles of the National Ambulance Service whose drivers could be seen wearing masks and protective clothing. The seven Hungarians were to be examined but they would have to wait a few days for the results. Earlier, an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade told the Hungarian news agency MTI by telephone from France that the Hungarians were asymptomatic and well.

János Szlávik, chief physician at the South Pest Central Hospital – National Institute of Hematology and Infectology, said that because the coronavirus is known to have an average latency of five to 14 days, the seven people are quarantined for two weeks.
