State Gambling Company Hospital Donation

State monopoly gambling firm Szerencsejáték Plc. provides HUF 150 million in support to three hospitals in Budapest for the purchase of special tools and equipment to help with epidemiological control.

The CEO of the lottery company, Gábor Czepek said at the press conference in Budapest on Tuesday that the company offered HUF 50 million per institution to the National Institute of Hematology and Infectology of the South Pest Central Hospital, the Szent Imre University Central Hospital and the North Central Hospital New St. John's Hospital and Clinic, as part of its social responsibility program.

He pointed out that Szerencsejáték Plc. paid attention to the health of the players and its employees, as well as to the economic results of the company, even during the epidemic situation. Regarding the latter, he noted that the company suffered a serious loss of sales revenue in the spring, however, the small and medium-sized business partner network, which employs 5,000 employees, will receive more than HUF five billion in exchange for developments. The company hopes to surpass last year's sales by the end of the year.

István Vályi-Nagy, director general of the National Institute of Hematology and Infectious Diseases of the South Pest Central Hospital, said that the money given to the hospital will be used to purchase equipment for innovative antiviral treatments and their introduction to help overcome coronavirus infection.
