28 people died of the new coronavirus infection in Hungary in the past 24 hours – a record daily number of pandemic fatalities –, bringing the official total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 996.
The number of confirmed people infected with the new coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 39,862. There are 21,990 people in compulsory home quarantine while 11,753 recovered according to the government website.
The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 27,113. The results show that 33% of those infected, 45% of the deceased, and 32% of those recovered live in Budapest. There are currently 1,519 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 160 of whom are on ventilators.
