A shipment of 150 ventilators has been sent from Hungary to the Czech Republic to help the growing number of patients infected by the new coronavirus.
Earlier this week, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš asked the European Union and NATO member states for help in combating the rapidly spreading coronavirus epidemic and the Hungarian government made its offer as soon as possible.
As the business news site hvg.hu reports, the ventilators will be stored by the Czech fire brigade in the warehouse of the state reserve fund and taken to hospital when needed.
The President of the European commission Ursula von der Leyen expressed here gratitude in a message in English and Hungarian: "I welcome such solidarity between Member States. We need each other even more during this pandemic."
