A mural evoking Berlin has been painted in German-Hungarian cooperation on a firewall in downtown Budapest to mark the 30th anniversary of the reunification of Germany.
The mural at Akácfa Street 27 in District 7 depicts three figures at the Berlin Wall in clothes painted with the colors of the German national flag by the German artist Justus Becker alias #COR and the Hungarian painter Katalin Benkő.
The project was implemented in cooperation with the German Embassy and the Colorful City Group (Színes Város).
"We are happy about the joint project with Színes Város and that we were able to invite Justus Becker, an artist from Frankfurt am Main, the twin city of Budapest. In the time of the pandemic, it is particularly important to support the creative industry," Ambassador Johannes Haindl said of the work of art that conveys the meaning of cohesion, assistance and unity.
