Another 69 Hungarians fell victim to the new coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, raising the oficial number of COVID-19 fatalities to 1,819. The majority of the 69 victims were elderly and chronically ill.
According to the relevant government site, 20,078 people have already recovered from the disease.
The new coronavirus infection was detected in 3,878 more Hungarian citizens by Sunday, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 79,199.
There are already 4205 patients in hospital, 306 of whom are on ventilators.
From Monday, the rules for wearing a mask will be further tightened. In addition to shops and public transport, the use of the mask is currently mandatory in cinemas, theaters, shopping malls, health and social care facilities, customer reception offices, outdoor events and sporting events. From tomorrow, it will also be mandatory to wear the mask in restaurants and entertainment venues.
