In the past 24 hours, 70 coronavirus-infected people have died in Hungary, including a 28-year-old man. This comes following the previous day's record of 69 such fatalities.
One of the recent deaths is reported to be that of a 28-year-old folk musician and local government representatives in Budapest's District 8. The official number of COVID-19 fatalities has now risen to 1,889 in the country.
The new coronavirus infection was detected in another 3,581 Hungarians, thus increasing the number of identified infections in Hungary to 82,780. The number of active infected people is 60,415.
20,476 have already recovered. There are 4,417 patients hospitalized with coronavirus, 313 of whom are on ventilators, the government website, which provides daily data on the coronavirus, reported. 13,628 tests were performed in the previous 24 hours, 26.2% of which were positive.
