Reported COVID-19 Cases Exceed 300,000 in Hungary

4,045 new infections were registered in Hungary over the past 24 hours, thus, the number of infected people in this country increased to 300,022.

189 patients died over that period, bringing the official number of deaths due to the new coronavirus infection to 7,914. The total number of those who recovered from the infection is 93,323, while the number of the active infected is 198,785.

The related government website finds it important to point out that 18% of the active infected, 20% of the dead and 23% of the recovered are from Budapest. (The capital accounts for about 19% of the country's population)

7,295 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, 538 of whom are on ventilators.
