COVID-19 Fatalities Exceed 13,000 in Hungary

Another 96 Hungarians fell victom to the new coronavirus infection - most of them elderly, chronic patients -, bringing the official number of COVID-19 related deaths to 13,026 in Hungary.

The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in another 1,561 Hungarian citizens in the apst 24 hours, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in this country to 375,125, according to the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

According to the report, the number of people recovered is also constantly growing, standing currently at 277,949 people, while the number of active infected people has decreased to 84,150. There are 3,601 coronavirus patients hospitalized, 298 of whom are on ventilators.

By Saturday, 279,410 people had been vaccinated, 101,652 of them had already received their second jab.

The previous day, 1,576 new coronavirus cases and 98 deaths were recorded.
