Working Holiday Program Agreement

The Republic of Korea and Hungary have signed a bilateral Working Holiday Program Agreement in Budapest. The Agreement provides an opportunity for young Koreans and Hungarians travelling to each other’s countries to get a temporary work permit.

The Working
Holiday Program Agreement was signed in the Hungarian Foreign Ministry by the
Minister, János Martonyi and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary,
Gwan-Pyo Nam.

According
to the document, annually 100 citizens of the Republic of Korea and Hungary,
respectively, aged between 18 and 30, will have the opportunity to work in each
other’s countries for no longer than three months while studying or being on
holiday.

The
Agreement is scheduled to come into effect in 2013 and will contribute to the
further development of the cooperation of the Republic of Korea and Hungary in
the field of tourism, culture and education.
