Construction Industry Figures Down

Construction output volume in December 2020 in Hungary decreased by 0.3% in one year, and by 3.1% compared to the previous month.

The volume of construction output in December 2020, based on raw data published by the Central statistical Office this Monday, was 0.3% lower compared to the previous year.

Output of the two main groups of construction developed inversely: in the construction of buildings it grew by 15.1%, in civil engineering works went down by 16.5%. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output decreased by 3.1% compared to the November data, in December it surpassed the nadir of May by 22.2%. In 2020 construction output lessened by 9.1% compared to 2019. In the year as a whole, construction output prices were 7.4% higher on average than in the previous year.
