Hungarian Population: 4,000 Fewer People in February

In February 2021, 7,055 children were born and 11,024 people died in Hungary, according to preliminary data. Compared to February 2020, the number of live births and that of deaths was nearly the same.

As the Central Statistical Office reports about the February 2021 figures, 4,096 couples got married, which was 9.3% less compared to the same period of the previous year. In terms of the trends of vital events in the last twelve months, i.e. between March 2020 and February 2021, the number of births was 1.2% and that of deaths 13% higher and the number of marriages 3.6% lower compared to the same period one year earlier.
