Hungarian Fatalities in the Pandemic Exceed 26,000

The number of daily deaths of Hungarian patiens infected with the new coronavirus is has again been over 200 in the past two days. By Thursday morning, another 214 Hungarians died, increasing the official number of COVID-19 related fatalities to 26,001 in this country.

In the past 24 hours, 3,607 new infections have been registered in Hungary, bringing the total number of identified infected people to 760,967 since the beginning of the epidemic, according to the government site coronavirus.gov.hu on Thursday.

The number of cured people is now 469,592, while the number of active infected people has fallen to 265,374. 7,507 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 876 of whom are on ventilators.

So far, 4,326,000 people are reported to have registered for the coronavirus vaccine. The number of people vaccinated at least once has risen to 3,419,450, with 1,453,300 having received both doses of the vaccine – either the Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca jabs authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or the Russian SputnikV and Chinese Sinopharm vaccines imported by the Hungarian government. the two latter ones have no EMA license.
