EU still concerned about corruption in Hungary

Corruption affecting public decisionmaking, public healthcare and public procurement remained a cause of concern in Hungary, the European Commission said in its latest country report cited by the Hungarian financial website portfolio.hu.

It added that "significant concerns remain in Hungary in the field of public procurement with regard to ensuring competition and transparency." The risk having EU funds suspended is still very real. Overall, Hungary has made limited progress in addressing the 2014 country-specific recommendations, the EU executive said.
