Thus, the pair produced the third gold and the third silver medal for Hungary at the Tokyo Olympics.

The kayak and canoeing race course was the venue for the third Hungarian bronze medal at these Games as five-time Olympic champion Danuta Kozák, this time paired with Dóta Bodonyi, came in third in the women's double kayak 500m event. At the previous Olympics, Kozák won this event with Gabriella Szabó who has since retired.

Still on water, Zsombor Berecz achieved the greatest success the history of Hungarian sailing by finishing second in the Men's One Person Dinghy (Heavyweight) - Finn category behind Great Britain's Giles Scott, the defending champion, and ahead of Spain's Joan Cardona Mendez. 35-year old world and European champion Berecz won the last heat, the medal race, but was not able to close the overall gap with Scott.
