Czech Police Arrive to Patrol Hungary's Schengen Border

In the framework of the Visegrád Four Member States' border police cooperation, 50 Czech police officers are deployed in Hungary between October 15 and December 15, 2021.

During the two months of joint work, the Czech police officers will support the Hungarian border guards with thermal imaging vehicles. They will perform their tasks in their own uniforms and equipment, in 12-hour shifts.

The contingent will attended a training course in Szeged on October 16, and then start their joint work with the Hungarian police.

The Czech police officers were given a ceremonial welcome in Budapest on Friday. At the event, Czech Ambassador Tibor Bial recalled that a new agreement on Czech assistance had recently been signed between the two countries and thzs, the joint work could start.

A similar Czech contingent of 50 people already arrived in Hungary in 2016.
