Dozens of dairy farmers - and half a dozen cows - marched on the streets of the Hungarian capital this Monday in a protest for more subsidies - by the European Union and the Hungarian state - as well as for better market opportunities.
The subsidies provided by the European Union and the Hungarian state are inadequate and often lead to lower farmgate prices for dairy than the cost of production, farmers told the Hungarian news agency MTI.
