The number of new infections in the previous 24 hours, 5,506, published on the coronavirus information page, is 1,931 more compared to previous day, while the number of new deaths registwered on Tuesday is 153 (42 less than on Monday).
The total number of deaths, according to official figures is 37,232, one of the highest in the world per the size of population.
The number of active infected persons has decreased to 165,202. 6,337 patients with coronavirus are in hospital, 540 of whom are on ventilators. This further reduces the number of people on ventilators and the number of people treated in hospital.
The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,194,221, of whom 5,906,701 have already received their second vaccination and 3,028,149 have already received their third vaccination.
