COVID-19: Fewer Active Infected, 140 More Fatalities

In the past 24 hours, 3,586 new infections have been confirmed in Hungary, bringing the total number of identified infections since the start of the outbreak to 1,237,330, according to the government coronavirus information page.

A total of 140 mostly elderly, chronic patients have died, bringing the total number of deaths to 38,307. According to the information, the number of people recovered is steadily increasing and currently stands at 1.071.772.

The number of active infected has decreased by 7,966 and now stands at 127,251.

There are currently 4,827 patients with coronavirus in hospital (down by 332 in one day), with 454 now on ventilators. The number of the latter has fallen by ten since Tuesday's data.

On Wednesday, 21,645 coronavirus tests were carried out, 16.5 percent of which were positive.

The first vaccine has now been given to 6,245,773 people (+6,363 first vaccinated compared to Tuesday), of whom 5,957,571 have already received the second vaccine (+6,080 second vaccinated). A total of 3,136,000 people have requested the third dose so far (+11,503 third vaccinees).
