Internet subscriptions in Hungary exceeded 3.3 million at the end of December last year, up an annual 5.8%, down from a rise of 21.3% in 2009, the country's Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Monday.
Just over 50% all subscriptions were for broadband, while 39 percent were for mobile internet at the end of last December.
Wireless internet subscriptions rose by an annual 35.6% after going up 52.9% rise in 2009.
The combined revenue of internet service providers (ISP) was HUF 34 bn (EUR 124 mn) in the fourth quarter of 2010, down 2.6% year on year. Their revenue in the full year of 2010 amounted to 135.3 billion forints, down 4.6% from 2009.
Fully, 393 ISPs operated in Hungary at the end of December, up 36 in one year. The concentration of the market is high, with 18 ISPs accounting for 90% of all subscriptions.
