5,245 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Sunday, while another 5,688 from Ukraine crossed from Romania. There were 11,503 refugees recorded on Saturday, the Hungarian state news agency MTI reported.
According to the national police headquarters, 5,245 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Sunday, while another 5,688 originally from Ukraine crossed from Romania.
Police issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 391 people. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for permanent documents.
Budapest police received 671 refugees, 320 children among them, who arrived by train. Earlier figures show that 5,886 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Saturday, while another 5,617 originally from Ukraine crossed from Romania.
