Teacher demonstrations in Hungary

Teachers have demonstrated in several Hungarian cities against the over-centralized school system introduced a couple of years ago by the Orbán government. The main protest was held in Miskolc with support rallies in Budapest, Pécs, Szeged and other cities.

Some 5,000 teachers demonstrated in the NE Hungarian city of Miskolc agains the education policy of the Hungarian government. The main message of the protests in 11 cities altogether was that teachers in Hungary had enough of the overcentralized shool system and education policy - a system that need to be rebuilt from the foundations.
