More than 1,800 university students, doctoral students and over 700 young researchers have received funding for their research from the HUF 1.807 billion non-reimbursable EFOP co-funded by the European Union (EU), Hungary and the European Social Fund.

Thanks to the successful applications, the winners were able to conduct research, publish papers and case studies in Hungarian and foreign languages, present papers at conferences, receive grants for writing dissertations and research, and participate in presentation and science communication training, among other things, according to a statement by Corvinus University of Budapest issued this Monday.

The five-year project, which ended on May 31 this year, was implemented by the Corvinus University of Budapest as consortium leader in cooperation with three other institutions – the University of Debrecen, Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest and the University of Pécs.

The EU-funded project aimed to improve the talent management system in higher education in the social sciences and to support the supply of researchers through doctoral training. It has supported students and teachers who are highly qualified and perform well in international competition and the labor market. 1,831 students and 724 young researchers successfully applied for funding from the project. They have given 514 presentations at scientific conferences and published 406 papers, 189 of which in foreign languages.
