COVID-19: Most Data Worsening in Hungary

Epidemic indicators in Hungary are low but worsening. There are more new infections, hospitalized and ventilator-treated patients with coronavirus than in the previous week.

A total of 5,193 new infections were confirmed last week (up slightly from 4,704 last week), bringing the total number of identified infections to 2,176,249 since the start of the epidemic, the government information portal said. The 43 people who died last week were mostly elderly (50 deaths were reported the previous week), chronic patients, bringing the total to 48,380.

The number of recovered persons is now 2,114,134 and the number of active infected persons has increased to 13,735 from 13,084 the previous week.

There are currently 1,124 patients with coronavirus in hospital (up from 828 last week), 24 of whom are on ventilators (up from 14 last week).

The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,420,546, of whom 6,206,878 are on their second, 3,902,986 on their third and 404,962 on their fourth vaccination.
