COVID-19: Still 8 Hungarian Fatalities a Day on Average

Although the general situation has improved somewhat compared to the previous week, the 56 deaths in Hungary last week, mostly of elderly, chronic patients, brought the total number of fatalities since the start of the new coronavirus epidemic in this country to 48,495.

A total of 4,397 new infections were confirmed last week, bringing the total number of identified infections to 2,185,816 since the beginning of the epidemic.

There are currently 386 patients with coronavirus in hospital, nine of whom are on ventilators. The number of cured persons is steadily increasing, currently being at 2,123,750 while the number of active infected persons has decreased to 13,571.

The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,420,813, of whom 6,207,249 are on their second vaccination, 3,903,679 are on their third and 413,303 are on their fourth, according to the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu.
