The Hungarian e-commerce market is expanding with a new player: the OTP Group has announced the launch of its webstore fizz.hu. Forbes.hu reports that the bank's employees will start testing the webstore in a closed round next Tuesday.
According to the newspaper's market sources, a sharp launch is expected by the end of the summer.
"fizz.hu is a webstore with a continuously expanding service and product portfolio, and our goal is to become one of the best webstores in Hungary in the future," fizz.hu wrote in its statement.
According to Forbes.hu, the webstore will operate as an online marketplace – similar to Emag, for example – and will be run by OTP Ecosystem Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of OTP Bank Plc. The core of the new webstore team may come from Emag, and the managing director will be András Szőcs, formerly head of e-commerce at Mol.
