Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Ltd., which is 20 years old this year, will implement two investments worth a total of EUR 48 million at its Miskolc site by mid-2025. The company will spend EUR 12 million to further expand the development and testing of electric drives in Miskolc, and around EUR 36 million to expand its production capacity. Overall, the projects will create 170 new jobs.

Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Ltd. was founded in 2003. It is headquartered in Miskolc, NE Hungary where it has three sites and a branch in nearby Felsőzsolca, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency reports.

The investment in Bosch’s plant for automotive components in Miskolc aims to strengthen the company’s development activities at the site including respective competencies, and related manufacturing infrastructure. Besides this, the investment will create even stronger synergies between product and process development activities and production areas.

In the R&D field, it will strengthen its activities in the development of a new generation of eBike powertrains and in the field of air conditioning motors, circulating pumps and valves for the automotive industry. The investment is worth EUR 12 million and will create 60 new jobs. Of these, 45 will be meant for highly educated staff.

In addition, the asset-based investment by Robert Bosch Energy and Body Systems Kft. will expand the capacity of assembly lines for a new generation of several product types (air conditioning blower motor, engine cooling fan, eBike drive) at the Miskolc plant and create capacity for the production of newly developed products. The investment is worth EUR 36 million and will create 110 new jobs through redeployment within the division.

Hungarian taxpayers cover about 17% of the costs of the two investments through a government decision.
