Budapest Airport, the operator of the Hungarian capital's Ferenc Liszt International Airport, has announced that Condor, one of Germany’s most established carriers, will launch its Frankfurt-Budapest service from May 1, 2026. The flight, operating three times a day, will add further capacity and flexibility towards this key European hub.
From May 2026, a new airline and a new flight will be added to the list of aerial links between Hungary and Germany: the German airline, Condor will launch its Budapest-Frankfurt service. Condor will operate the route using its A320 fleet, with a planned seat capacity of 180 passengers per flight, which, together with Lufthansa’s existing Frankfurt service, will mean 10 000 seats available per week from Budapest to Frankfurt, Germany’s major financial center.
The addition of this new service further strengthens Budapest Airport’s already robust network to Germany. With direct flights to 11 destinations across Germany, this move underscores the country’s significance as Budapest’s third-largest direct seat market.
Markus Klaushofer, the chief commercial officer of Budapest Airport, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Condor to our growing family of airline partners. This new service to Frankfurt not only enhances choice and frequency, but also supports deeper business and tourism ties between Hungary and Germany. Condor’s entry into the Hungarian market demonstrates strong confidence in the connectivity of Budapest and the continued growth of Ferenc Liszt International Airport as a major airport in the region.”
