E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI)'s network of more than 400 electric car charging points has been revamped: the charging stations have been given a new look, the connector markings have been changed, and the background system has also been updated. With the newly introduced ad hoc payment system, customers can now pay for charging without registration using a QR code or, in the case of fast (FC) and ultra-fast (UFC) chargers, directly with a bank card, the charging station operator announced on Wednesday.
As announced, the EDRI charging stations have been given E.ON's new look, making them more recognizable and giving them a more uniform appearance. The company has completely replaced the background system of the equipment to ensure faster and more stable operation of the new digital services. In line with user needs, the names and iconography of the charging connectors have also been updated, making the markings and pictograms easier to understand.
The latest investment has made QR code-based, so-called ad hoc payments available at all charging stations. Before starting charging, users scan the code on the device to access an online payment platform where they can quickly and securely start charging their electric vehicle without having to register.
There are 418 EDRI charging points available in Hungary, 78 of which have a capacity of 300 kW. The new ad hoc payment system is already operational at all charging points nationwide.
