Hungary's state-owned MVM CEEnergy on Thursday signed a ten-year contract with ENGIE Energy Marketing Singapore for the delivery of an annual 400 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The contract with French-owned ENGIE for a combined 4 billion cubic meters of gas is Hungary's longest-term LNG contract ever, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. I added that the supply deal would be a "pillar" of Hungary's energy security in future.

The contract is for the period between 2028 and 2038.
