Hungarian haulier Waberer's International has inaugurated an almost HUF 1bn expansion of its vehicle service facilities at its base in Mosonmagyaróvár (NW Hungary) on Friday.
As part of the investment, a repair shop, service building, tire repair shop and vehicle washer were built and expanded.
Last year, nearly 2,700 trailers and 2,100 semi-trailers were serviced at the base. The investment will more than double the current capacity and it is planned that around 10,000 vehicles will visit the base annually.
Waberer’s Chairman-CEO Zsolt Barna said the importance of Mosonmagyarovar lies in its proximity to both the Austrian and Slovak borders, which means that vehicles do not have to travel to Budapest unnecessarily for servicing.
The investment will raise headcount at the site to 25 from 12 and the repair shop will also act as a training cente for the students of Széchenyi István University.
