For the second time, Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport, part of VINCI Airports, has won the Cargo Airport of the Year - Europe award at the Payload Asia Awards, the operator company Budapest Airport says in a media bulletin.
The award was given by a jury of leading industry experts, in recognition of the company’s efforts to develop air cargo and cooperation within the Budapest cargo community, acknowledging the role of Budapest Airport as a hub in Central and Eastern Europe. The accolade was awarded to Ferenc Liszt International Airport alongside leading European airports such as Liège and Prestwick Airport.
Ferenc Liszt International Airport’s role as a regional cargo hub is clearly reflected in its annual results, which show significant growth month after month. The 300,000-ton target set last year was exceeded by the volume of goods handled at the beginning of October, and the total volume of 40,992 tons registered in October represents a 41.5% increase compared to last year. The 348,752 tons of cargo handled in the first ten months of 2025 is 44.8% more than last year’s volume.
