The Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) share index, the BUX fell this week amid declining turnover, with the BUX closing at 108,922.07 points on Friday, down 0.49% or 531.32 points from a week earlier. Weekly turnover was HUF 75.93 billion, down from HUF 135.59 billion the previous week, with leading shares weakening except for Mol.
On Monday, buoyed by favorable investor sentiment, the BUX closed up 0.88% at 110,414.33 points, but on Tuesday it underperformed European stock markets with average turnover, falling 0.54% to 109,816.05 points. On Wednesday, the BUX underperformed again, closing at 109,235.96 points, down 0.53%. On Thursday, Mol's rise pulled the BUX up, but even so, it only gained 0.14% to 109,387.87 points. On Friday, however, its value fell again, by 0.43% to 108,922.07 points.
In its weekly summary, Equilor Investment Plc. highlighted that with the acquisition of Polsolar Ltd., Mol had acquired five solar power plants operating near Mezőcsát, with a total capacity of 304 megawatts peak (MWp). The enterprise value specified in the transaction is approximately HUF 118 billion, and after net debt and other adjustments, HUF 64 billion will be paid to the seller.
According to press reports, Mol has indicated to the US authorities that it is interested in acquiring Lukoil's international assets. According to sources, Mol is primarily interested in Lukoil's European refineries and filling stations, as well as its production interests in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
Among the events of the week, they mentioned 4iG's flash report, according to which the company's net sales revenue increased to HUF 187.3 billion in the third quarter, 6% higher than a year earlier. After a loss of HUF 2.9 billion in the previous year, the company's after-tax profit increased to HUF 9.1 billion.
Among the leading stocks this week, Mol's share price rose by 1.37%, closing at HUF 2,950 on Friday, with weekly turnover exceeding HUF 11.16 billion.
OTP's share price fell by 0.32% during the week, closing at HUF 34,100 on Friday, with weekly turnover of HUF 48.96 billion.
Magyar Telekom's share price fell by 0.80% during the week, closing at HUF 1,744 on Friday, with weekly turnover exceeding HUF 1.62 billion.
Richter's share price fell by 1.18% during the week, closing at HUF 9,620 on Friday, with weekly turnover of HUF 6.51 billion.
The BUMIX index of small and medium-sized shares closed at 10,128.33 points on Friday, down 275.20 points, or 2.65%, from the previous week.
