Preliminary data show the number of births falling by 11% in November compared with the same month of the previous year, while deaths declined by 9.3%, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.
Fully 5,582 children were born in November and 9,686 people died, thus the natural decrease in the population was 4,104 people, compared with 4,427 in November 2024, KSH said.
Altogether 2,893 couples tied the knot in November, up by 6.2% compared with the same month the previous year.
Fully 65,913 children were born in January-November, 7.4% fewer than in the same period of the previous year, while 112,722 people died, 2.6% fewer than a year earlier.
The natural decrease in the population in the first 11 months of the year was 46,809 people, up by 5.0% on the previous year.
In January-November, 46,340 couples got married, down by 1.9% year on year.
