Market share in Hungary of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands of China's Chery Group has reached 1.7%, local importer Genius Automotive Europe Ltd. said.
Sales of both brands reached 2,204 in the first full year since their introduction in Hungary in October 2024. In the plug-in hybrid segment, the brands were in fifth place with sales of 486 vehicles.
There were 20 Omoda and Jaecoo dealerships and garages in Hungary at the end of 2025.
Genius Automotive Europe Ltd., which is a 50-50% joint venture of Hungarian car sellers Hovány Ltd. and Petrányi Auto Ltd., has also launched sales of the Chery Group brands in Romania and Bulgaria.
