February 11, 2026

Between February 16 and 22, 2026, Budapest will once again host the Third Hungarian-Africa Week, a week-long series of comprehensive professional and cultural programs for Hungarian and African business, institutional, educational, and civil society actors. It aims to strengthen Hungarian-African relations, initiate new collaborations, and create a forum for the exchange of experiences and joint thinking.

According to the press release, this year's program series will focus on healthcare, while also emphasizing the economy, education, international development, and culture. The event provides a unique platform for all those planning business, institutional, or civil cooperation in Hungarian-African relations. The dynamically developing African market, the growing middle class seeking European quality, and the significant, untapped natural and human resources offer serious opportunities for Hungarian players as well.

The Hungarian-Africa Week is not only an opportunity for economic and business networking, but also provides a comprehensive overview of current trends in diplomatic, cultural, international development, and humanitarian cooperation. Participants can establish direct contact with decision-makers and key professional players in African target countries, laying the foundations for or further strengthening their long-term partnerships.

The week, organized into thematic sections, begins with an opening day featuring a ceremonial opening, welcome speeches, and introductions. This will be followed by the Economic Day and gala dinner, where interactive professional programs, B2B meetings, training sessions, and presentations of best practices await those interested. The Health Day and the Hungarian-African Medical Conference will focus on health innovations and cooperation with lectures, workshops, and roundtable discussions.

The Education Day will feature the Hungarian-African Rectors' Conference, which will focus on the internationalization of higher education and institutional and corporate partnerships, as well as company visits and thematic workshops. International Development Day will focus on presenting development strategies, international projects, and civil-corporate collaborations.

The weekend Cultural Days, with the motto "This is Africa!", will bring African culture closer to the Hungarian public with art programs, a fair, and a festival atmosphere.

The organizers are confident that the 3rd Hungarian-African Week will contribute to the further deepening of Hungarian-African relations and lay the foundation for long-term, sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships.
