Listed car seller AutoWallis's vehicle sales edged down 2% year-on-year to 11,602 in the first quarter, falling on the performance of the wholesale division, a preliminary report released on Wednesday shows.

Sales of the wholesale division dropped 6% to 7,676 as KGM, Renault and Dacia sales were impacted by competing Chinese brands, AutoWallis said. The positive effect of a respositioning of the KGM brand is expected to show up from the second quarter, it added.

In the retail segment, AutoWallis's new car sales increased 10% to 3,001, while used car sales slipped 1% to 925.

AutoWallis mechanics booked 81,573 hours, 2% more than in the base period.

AutoWallis's rental fleet grew 5% to 3,981 vehicles.
