Approximately HUF 3.5 billion were spent on developing digital teaching methodologies at the University of Miskolc in northeastern Hungary, on building digital infrastructure to support practical instruction, and laying the groundwork for student and faculty skills related to the use of information technology, the institution told MTI.
In their statement, they wrote that the goal of the nearly four-year project titled “DigitALL – The Digital Transformation of Education at the University of Miskolc” was to create a complex digital ecosystem that, in addition to innovatively supporting education, also enhances students’ practical knowledge so that it aligns even more closely with labor market expectations.
They added that the main goal of the EU-funded project was the modernization of higher education, as well as infrastructure and educational development in the spirit of digitalization.
As part of the project, approximately 2,800 digital devices were procured, the network infrastructure was upgraded, and 11,000 students, faculty, and staff participated in training.
In addition, staff and students developed more than 70 digital learning materials supported by digital devices, and comprehensive curriculum analyses were prepared based on labor market research and comparative analyses.
As part of the project, laboratory equipment worth approximately HUF 700 million was also procured.
