Hankook Expresses Gratitude for the Work of Lifesavers

Hankook’s 2025 Tire Donation Program has yielded tangible results in day-to-day operations: with the support of the Korean tire manufacturer, approximately 130 domestic nonprofit and charitable organizations were able to carry out their work more safely last year. Among others, the company’s tires have made the daily lives of Hungarian water rescue teams easier – even in the most critical situations.

According to the company’s statement, the practical significance of the support is well illustrated by reports from the Water Rescue Services of Hungary and Volunteer Firefighter Brigade, both of which perform water and land rescue operations. Under the program, the organization receives an average of three sets of Hankook tires annually for their operational vehicles, which are in daily service.

Their fleet includes ambulances as well as vehicles serving regional units around Lake Balaton, which patrol the lake up to twice a day during the summer. And the tasks are not just logistical in nature – the vehicles can also be called upon for rescue and disaster response situations, often under unpredictable conditions, so proper equipment is essential for effective execution.

“Hankook tires prove to be particularly crucial in situations where driving takes place on slippery, wet or changing road surfaces, when weather conditions change suddenly, and during high-stress operations that require rapid response, where reliable traction and stability are of paramount importance,” Tímea Szabolcs, communications officer for the Water Rescue Services of Hungary and Volunteer Firefighter Brigade, said.

Under such conditions, tire reliability is not merely a technical issue but directly influences the success of rescue operations, the statement pointed out.
