The Association of the Hungarian Automotive Industry (MAGE) has renewed its leadership; based on a decision by the general assembly, Róbert Krisztián, representing Magyar Suzuki Plc, will continue his work as president, while Zoltán Gábor, representing Deloitte Plc, was elected chairman of the supervisory board, the association informed MTI in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the general meeting report, MAGE, as one of the leading professional and advocacy platforms in the domestic automotive industry, has further strengthened its role in recent times, a role for which there is growing demand amid the rapid technological and economic transformation of the automotive industry. This is further evidenced by the fact that membership has grown from 61 in 2022 to 80 member companies, with the association expanding particularly among Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, they noted.

MAGE has recently participated in professional consultations on numerous regulatory issues affecting the automotive industry and, in some cases, has been directly involved in the legislative process, they explained.

Among other things, the association has represented the interests of its member companies regarding the NIS2 Directive, fleet carbon dioxide regulations, the employment of third-country workers, wage transparency, the domestic implementation of the AI Regulation, as well as energy efficiency and sustainability regulations.

MAGE maintains regular contact with policy makers to ensure that the perspectives of the Hungarian automotive industry are adequately reflected in decision-making, MAGE emphasized in its statement.

MAGE has also expanded its international connections in recent times, joining, among other initiatives, the ACEA CEE AutoHUB, which supports the representation of the Central and Eastern European automotive industry at the EU level. The organization’s new member companies were introduced at the general meeting, including BYD Auto Hungary, KUKA Robotics, Nokia, Valeo, EnergyHub, Besser Hungária Ltd., Miell Quality Ltd., and Skshield Us. The addition of these new members further strengthens MAGE’s role in the domestic automotive industry ecosystem, the association stated in its press release.
