Hungary's seasonally-adjusted Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) stood at 50.2 points in May, edging down from 50.4 in the previous month, the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management (Halpim) is quoted by MTI.
The PMI remained over the 50-point threshold, signalling expansion in the manufacturing sector.
Among the PMI sub-indices, the new orders index fell 4.1 percentage points but continued to show growth.
The production volume index decreased 2.2 percentage points but still showed an expansion.
The employment index rose 4.7 percentage points and was a fraction above the 50-point threshold.
The delivery times index declined 0.7 percentage points and was below the 50-point mark.
The gauge of purchased inventories slipped 2.0 percentage points but showed an expansion.
Among the foreign trade indicators, the import index remained unchanged, while the export index fell by 1.9 percentage points.
Purchase prices rose, but the index fell by 7.4 percentage points. The purchase volume index fell by 1.1 percentage points, indicating a further rise in the index. The finished goods inventory index rose by 1.7 percentage points.
