In the tenth academic year of the European Parliament’s Ambassador School Program, eleven new schools joined the initiative in Hungary. The schools that joined in the 2025–2026 academic year received their plaques at a ceremony held at the Europe Point on June 5, 2026.

Launched ten years ago, the program aims to raise young people’s awareness of Europe and European parliamentary democracy. Throughout this school year, teachers and students at participating schools gained active knowledge about the European Union and the European Parliament through various events both inside and outside the school.

The senior ambassador teachers and junior ambassador students received plaques and certificates commemorating this achievement at a ceremony held at the Europe Point on June 5, 2026.

On behalf of the European Parliament’s Liaison Office in Hungary, Communications Director Eszter Kotlár welcomed them, emphasizing that the program’s primary goal is to foster connections between the European Parliament and young people in the member states. She added that over the past decade, countless students and teachers have participated in international and domestic events as part of the program this school year alone, ten Hungarian schools traveled to Strasbourg, and students and teachers from an additional 12 institutions took part in the initiative’s international meeting in Slovenia.

At the ceremony to present plaques and certificates, junior ambassador students from the institutions that earned the title of Ambassador School this academic year gave presentations on their experiences and insights gained during the school year, as well as on the projects they carried out, which included a debate afternoon, a group quiz on EU knowledge, their own Instagram page, and meetings with students from Ambassador Schools in other countries. The ceremony concluded with a professional summary by Aurél Puskás, the program’s education expert in Hungary.

With the schools that joined this school year, there are now 82 institutions — and with them, 850 junior ambassadors and 150 senior ambassadors — participating in the European Parliament Ambassador School Program in Hungary.
