Output of Hungary's construction sector rose 2.6% year-on-year in April, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday show.
Construction sector output increased at the same pace when adjusted for the number of workdays.
Output of the buildings segment fell 6.2% but civil engineering output climbed 13.9%.
In absolute terms, construction sector output reached HUF 683 billion in April. The buildings segment accounted for 51% of the total. In a month-on-month comparison, construction sector output rose 6.9%, adjusted for seasonal and workday effects.
Order stock was up 5.4% at the end of April compared to twelve months earlier. Buildings segment orders slipped 4.5% but civil engineering orders rose 9.8%.
New order volume dipped 4.0% during the period. New orders in the buildings segment fell 9.3% but new civil engineering orders edged up 1.1%.
In the first four months of 2026, construction output volume was 2.2% lower than a year earlier.
