Factory gate prices, or industrial producers prices, in Hungary edged down 0.7% year-on-year in May, data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Tuesday, and reviewed by MTI, show.
Prices for domestic sale were up 1.9% while export prices decreased 1.8%.
Domestic prices of the manufacturing sector, which have a 67.6% weight in the Purchasing Price Index (PPI), rose 2.9%. Domestic energy prices, which account for 30.0% of PPI, fell 1.3%.
Export prices of the manufacturing sector, which have a 90.1% weight in the PPI, were 3.9% lower.
In a month-on-month comparison, factory gate prices fell 1.7% as prices for domestic sale were down 1.3% and export prices slipped 1.9%.
For the period January-May, factory gate prices declined 1.0% as prices for domestic sale inched down 0.1% and export prices were down 1.5%.
