The government is developing a new tourism system in collaboration with industry organizations, the Minister of Economy and Energy, István Kapitány announced on social media on Saturday.

The minister wrote that this week they held consultations with key Hungarian tourism industry organizations: the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association, Hungarian Hospitality Employers' Association, the Federation of Hungarian Event Organizers, the Hungarian Association of Travel Agencies, and the Hungarian Inbound Tour Operators Association.

He added that, in addition to the Ministry of Economy and Energy, the Hungarian Tourism Agency also participated in the meeting.

He emphasized that tourism provides jobs for some 400,000 people in Hungary, which is why its economic and social significance is both outstanding.

Their goal is clear: they want to establish a regular, predictable, and substantive professional dialogue in which the experience and knowledge of tourism stakeholders can be directly incorporated into the decision-making process, he stated. “Our joint effort is just beginning. We are working to develop a tourism system that is more competitive and predictable, and in which the industry participates as a true partner,” István Kapitány said.
