Hungarian Surplus in Trade of Services

Hungary had a EUR 3.394 billion surplus in trade of services in the second quarter, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Wednesday show.

Exports of services rose 11.1% year-on-year to EUR 10.355 billion. Imports of services climbed 13.4% to EUR 6.961 billion.

The tourism surplus reached EUR 1.327 billion, the logistics surplus came to EUR 968 million and the surplus for business services stood at EUR 332 million. The surplus from contracted labour services reached EUR 641 million.

Trade with other European Union member states accounted for 64% of Hungary's service exports and 73% of its service imports.

Hungary's biggest partner in trade of services was Germany, accounting for 19% of turnover. The United States was runner-up, with an 8.3% share, followed by the United Kingdom with 6.6%.
