Budapest University Partners with Gránit Bank

The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday with Gránit Bank extending to instruction, training and research and development.

To the extent possible, BME supports the inclusion of topics proposed by Gránit Bank in thesis projects, student research (TDK) and doctoral research. The university’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (VIK) presents its research and development related to this collaboration to the bank at least once a year during a professional workshop.

In the area of education and training, Gránit Bank contributes to BME’s new undergraduate program in Economic Informatics and its English-language master’s program in Artificial Intelligence Informatics through professional lectures on digital innovation and the banking applications of artificial intelligence, and it also suggests topics for term papers and theses. In the area of practical experience, the bank provides opportunities for students to participate in projects led by banking professionals, gain a closer understanding of the bank’s operations and AI-based developments, and take part in professional internships.

In addition, the bank is announcing a paid student idea competition for students at the BME Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (VIK), related to the bank’s digital and AI-based developments, as well as to support the faculty’s educational activities.

The competition focuses on artificial intelligence-based solutions capable of independently performing complex tasks and supporting processes. Applicants may submit ideas and prototypes that simplify and streamline customer service, financial advisory services, or even the bank’s internal operations.
