Weekly trading volume totaled HUF 143.7 billion, up from HUF 98.7 billion the previous week, with leading stocks posting mixed results.
On Monday, in line with European markets, the BUX fell by 0.52%, while Tuesday saw a rebound, with the index reaching a new high, up 1.2%. With a 0.43% rise on Wednesday, the index closed at 154,181.95 points, a historic record high. On Thursday, prices edged lower in the closing session, and the index fell by 0.01%, falling short of setting another record high. On Friday, amid unfavorable international sentiment, a correction set in, and the BUX closed the week at 152,753.74 points, down 0.92%.
Among the leading stocks this week, Richter’s share price rose the most, by 2.4%; on Friday, the stock closed at HUF 12,830, with weekly trading volume exceeding HUF 11.8 billion.
Magyar Telekom’s share price rose 0.6% for the week; the stock closed at HUF 2,562 on Friday, with weekly trading volume totaling HUF 2.91 billion.
OTP’s share price fell 1.8% this week; the stock closed at HUF 46,160 on Friday, with weekly trading volume exceeding HUF 89.3 billion.
ong the blue chips, Mol was the week’s biggest loser, with its share price falling 4.1% this week amid trading volume of nearly HUF 37.3 billion.
The BUMIX, the index of small- and mid-cap stocks, closed at 9,275.92 points on Friday, marking a gain of 39.09 points, or 0.42%, compared to the previous week’s close.
